Remote Learning

During the Covid-19 pandemic 2020-2022, the British Government instructed families to stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus for periods of time. When schools were instructed to re-open and invite children back to work within 'bubbles', Government guidance stated pupils with Covid-19 symptoms should stay home and isolate for a number of days, again to prevent spread.

With this significant disruption to children's learning, at All Cannings School, we felt it was vital that when pupils were being asked to stay at home with their families, teachers would provide work packs and lesson plans to support parents and children with their learning. It was also felt later in the pandemic that when pupils were isolating at home, but were well, they should have access to similar learning opportunities to their peers who were attending school to minimise gaps in learning. To facilitate this, tasks and activities were set via Tapestry (EYFS) or Seesaw (Y1 – Y6), mirroring provision in class as closely as possible.  Class staff responded to uploaded work within 48 hours and extra support was provided on return to school if necessary.

Post pandemic, the school continues to use a range of strategies to support home learning and the online platforms, Tapestry and Seesaw are very much in use on a regular basis.

Please see the Remote Learning policy (below) for futher details.
